Madhubani: A young Muslim man in Bihar’s Madhubani district suffered serious head injuries after a clash with members of a religious procession over the loud volume of a DJ system during namaz.
The incident took place when Mohammed Ibrahim requested participants of a Hindu procession passing by a mosque to either move forward or lower the music volume as it was time for prayers. An argument broke out, during which one participant allegedly flung Ibrahim’s cap in anger and struck him on the head, leaving him severely injured.
Ibrahim’s elder brother, Mohammed Isqar, said his sibling was visiting their aunt’s house near the mosque when the attack occurred. “Ibrahim was sitting in the house when the procession was passing. It was there was a long time. When it was call for namaz, he proceeded towards the mosque. He requested the procession that either they move forward or lower the volume. All of a sudden they started attacking my brother. He was all alone,” Isqar told reporters.
The injured man was taken to a hospital in Madhubani, where he is currently undergoing treatment.
Efforts to contact Madhubani police by Siasat.com for a response were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
