Bengaluru software engineer dies after being bitten by snake in his Crocs

Bengaluru: A 41-year-old man in Bengaluru’s Bannerghatta died after a snake hiding in his shoe bit him on Saturday, The Indian Express reported.

Manju Prakash, a software engineer at TCS, may not have felt pain of the bite due to numbness in the leg from a previous accident.

A resident of Ranganatha Layout, Prakash returned from a sugarcane shop wearing Crocs at around 12.45.

The software engineer left the shoes outside before heading to his room.

After finding a dead snake beside the shoes, his family members suspected that the reptile could have come out of his shoes.

When they rushed in to Pakash’s room to check on him, they found him lying in the bed, foaming at his mouth along with a bleeding leg.

He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him dead.

‘On returning home, Prakash went to his room and slept. After nearly an hour, a labourer who visited our house noticed a snake just outside the pair of Crocs. Upon checking, it was found that the snake was dead,’ the victim’s brother reportedly said.

Prakash lost sensation in his leg following a bus accident in 2016 and underwent a surgery.

It is reported citing a family member that the snake might have died of suffocation inside the shoe.
