Baba Ramdev gets booked for inflammatory remarks at Muslims

Barmer: Rajasthan Police filed an FIR naming Yoga guru Baba Ramdev on Sunday for allegedly delivering inflammatory remarks at a meeting of seers in the Barmer district of the state. As per the FIR, he promoted enmity and outraged religious feelings through his remark, PTI reported.

A police officer informed that the FIR was lodged on the basis of a complaint by a local resident, Pathai Khan, Chauhatan police station.

Parhai Chauhatan police station SHO Bhutaram said that the case was registered under IPC sections 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and 298 (uttering, words, etc., with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person).

On February 2, Ramdev accused Muslims of committing terror and abducting Hindu women, while Hinduism to Islam and Christianity.

"Muslims offer namaz five times a day and then do whatever sin comes to mind. They kidnap Hindu girls..become terrorists, and a lot of them are criminals.. Our Muslim brothers commit a lot of sins, but they definitely offer namaz as they are taught to do so," Hindustan Times quoted Ramdev.

He then said that 'Sanatana Dharma or Hinduism teaches "to do yoga, not indulge in violence, be early risers and engage in kind deeds by worshipping God".
