Lucknow: Killers of gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother had it all planned down to the last detail, according to a report.
The killers, Lovelesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya and Sunny Singh, followed the gangster brothers posing as journalists all day, before attacking them at an opportune moment, reports NDTV.
Another report previously said that one of the accused in the case, Sunny Singh, was inspired by speeches of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is said to have involvement in the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosa Wala.
Meanwhile police reportedly said the main accused in the murder of Atiq Ahmed and his brother was helped by others in pretending to be a reporter.
Lovelesh Tiwari, Arun Maurya and Sunny Singh worked for a local news website and Tiwari was given lessons on reporting by other accused, while helping him a buy a camera, police reportedly said.
Following the shocking murder days ago, a Special Investigation Team of UP police detained them from a railway station in Uttar Pradesh's Banda.
Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police conducted searches for Shaista Parveen, Atiq Ahmed's wife on Wednesday.
Senior police officer Samar Bahadur, as reportedly by news agency ANI, said that searches were carried out after receiving information about some criminals hiding.
‘The operation lasted for about 2 hours. A drone camera was also used in the operation. However, the operation did not prove successful today,’ ANI quoted Samar Bahadur as saying.
