The Assam government is all set to preparing to implement a different law while laws against 'Love Jihad' are being implemented all over the BJP ruled states.

The new law is 'to empower our sisters' says Assam government. BJP's move comes ahead of elections to be held next year and confidently expects a blast in winning elections.

State Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma said that laws in Assam will be unlike the laws in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, but would be having similarities.

"Assam's law is a not against 'love jihad'. It would be inclusive of all religions and would empower our sisters by bringing transparency. One will have to disclose not only religion, but earning source. Complete family details, education etc. Many times even in same religion marriage we have found that the girl later finds that the husband have illegal business", he added.

A few days ago, the UP government introduced a new law to curb 'Love Jihad'. Conversion in the name of marriage and forced conversion will be no longer a usual practice and will be charged as crime.

Weeks later court said "two adults are free to choose their partner" and the previous judgment unfolds the "conversion for the purpose of marriage is unacceptable" and "not a good law".
