Arvind Kejriwal holds first roadshow after release from jail

New Delhi: Arvind Kejriwal, currently out on an interim bail granted by the Supreme Court until June 1, emphasized his commitment to campaigning against "dictatorship" as he embarked on his first roadshow for the Lok Sabha elections.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader, accompanied by his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, asserted his belief that the BJP would not form the government after June 4, expressing confidence in the potential impact of the INDIA bloc coming to power.

"It is a historic moment. The history is taking a turn. If the INDIA bloc forms government, the direction and fate of the country will change," Kejriwal proclaimed during the roadshow in the South Delhi constituency, following his recent release from Tihar jail.

"I am fighting against dictatorship with all my power. I need your support. The country never accepted any dictator and people removed them. I have come to seek your support to fight dictatorship," he appealed to the crowd, emphasizing his determination to challenge authoritarianism.

Kejriwal also predicted electoral losses for the BJP across various states, asserting that the INDIA bloc would secure victory. He promised full statehood for Delhi if his party came to power.

During the roadshow, Kejriwal expressed gratitude to the public for their support during his incarceration, noting the absence from Delhi and the missed interaction with its residents.

Recalling his time in jail, Kejriwal highlighted the struggles faced by him and his colleagues, alleging mistreatment by the BJP-led government. He praised the work of his former ministers, Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain, advocating for Sisodia to become the Union Minister of Education.

Accompanied by enthusiastic AAP volunteers, Kejriwal and Mann traversed the streets of Mehrauli in South Delhi, rallying support for party candidate Sahi Ram Pehalwan.

In addition to his roadshow in South Delhi, Kejriwal announced plans to campaign in the East Delhi constituency in support of AAP candidate Kuldeep Kumar, reaffirming his commitment to combating perceived authoritarian tendencies.
