Arvind Kejriwal approaches SC seeking extension of interim bail

New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has requested the Supreme Court to extend his interim bail by seven more days citing health concerns, NDTV reported.

Kejriwal sought more time in order to carry out medical tests, including a PET-CT scan, following a weight loss of 7 kg and elevated ketone levels.

The apex court granted him bail until June 1 to allow him to participate in the Lok Sabha election campaign.

As per the ruling, he is required to surrender and return to Tihar Jail on June 2.

Seeking extension to the bail, the Chief Minister's legal counsel argued that medical tests are crucial for his well-being.

The BJP leaders reportedly claimed earlier Kejriwal received ‘special treatment’ from the Supreme Court when it granted him bail.
