New Delhi: During a roadshow today, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently out on interim bail from Tihar Jail, made a direct appeal to the people, urging them to vote for his party to avoid his return to incarceration.
Emphasizing the significance of their choice, he stated, "I have to go back to jail after 20 days. If you choose jhadu (AAP's symbol), I won't have to go back to jail."
Accompanied by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Kejriwal led the roadshow in Moti Nagar in support of Somnath Bharti, the Aam Aadmi Party's candidate for the New Delhi seat. Expressing his commitment to the people, Kejriwal asserted, "They sent me to jail because I worked for you. The BJP does not want that work of Delhi people are done."
Highlighting the potential consequences of his return to jail, Kejriwal warned of adverse impacts on the welfare initiatives undertaken by his government. He cautioned, "If I went back to jail, the BJP would stop your work, free electricity, degrade schools, and shut down hospitals and Mohalla Clinics."
With the Delhi Lok Sabha elections scheduled for May 25, Kejriwal's plea comes at a critical juncture. His interim bail, granted in the Delhi liquor policy case, is set to expire on June 1, requiring him to surrender on June 2.
