Mumbai: Amruta Fadbavis, wife of BJP leader and former Chief Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis criticized the current Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on the state's current political crisis. The tweet that said "Once there was a wicked king (ek 'tha' kapadi raja) was later deleted by the social activist.
The Maharashtra government is currently on the verge of collapse. The Maha Vikas alliance government with partners from Congress and National Congress Party (NCP) under the leadership of the 19th Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray might crumble after 21 MLAs of the Shiv Sena and Minister Eknath Shinde have left for BJP-ruled Gujarat in rebellion against the coalition government.
At the same time, reports also said that in a phone call with Uddhav Thackeray, the current Cabinet Minister of Urban Development and Public work, Eknath Shinde has insisted Shiv Sena return to ally with BJP for continuing to rule the state. However, the Chief Minister has requested Shinde reconsider his decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The Congress party is currently accusing BJP of influencing the government of Maharashtra. NCP leader Sharad Pawar, known to have played a significant role in building the alliance government, is back on track to resolve the issues.
Minister Eknath Shinde has currently not finalized his decision or signed any document. The decisions are for the welfare of the party, he added.
Chandrakant Patil, President of BJP in Maharashtra, has welcomed the decision in forming a government with Shinde.
