Airtel revises postpaid plans, raises prices by up to 10%
New Delhi: Bharti Airtel has revised its postpaid tariffs, raising prices by around 3-10 per cent across its plans while adding complimentary international roaming benefits for customers.
The new plans will take effect from Thursday and will range from Rs 499 a month for an individual connection to Rs 1,799 for a family plan covering up to five SIMs, the telecom operator said in a regulatory filing.
Under the revised offerings, customers will also receive one free international roaming trip per SIM every year, along with unlimited data and calling. The complimentary roaming benefit includes 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls, 25 outgoing SMS and free incoming SMS, with the benefits valid for five days.
Airtel has increased the monthly price of its individual postpaid plan from Rs 449 to Rs 499. The family plan priced at Rs 699 earlier will now cost Rs 749 and cover two SIMs.
The three-SIM plan has been revised from Rs 999 to Rs 1,049. For four SIMs, the monthly price has increased from Rs 1,249 to Rs 1,449. The five-SIM family plan will cost Rs 1,799 and will include Netflix Standard.
The revised plans also come with Airtel’s spam and fraud protection features, along with access to entertainment and other services offered under its postpaid portfolio.
Amit Tripathi, Director, Market Operations, Bharti Airtel, said the company aims to provide customers with a premium postpaid experience through its network, 5G Fast Lane technology, spam and fraud protection and additional services.
The company said the new plans will be available to all customers opting for Airtel Postpaid from Thursday.
Existing Airtel customers can also move to the revised plans, including those currently subscribed to older postpaid offerings. Prepaid users can upgrade to the new postpaid plans as well.
The tariff revision comes with Airtel expanding the benefits attached to its postpaid offerings, particularly through the addition of annual international roaming benefits.
