Lucknow: Former additional advocate general of UP and Secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) Zafaryab Jilani remains on ventilator but his health conditions has improved, according to a hospital bulletin
Jilani was admitted to a private hospital on May 20 after he suffered brain haemorrhage. Citing a hospital bulletin PTI reported that On Saturday, the CT scan of Jilani is normal, and he is still on ventilator.
"Today his condition stable and better as compared to yesterday. He is undergoing treatment under the strict monitoring of a team of doctors of the neuro-surgery department and COVID care team," the report said citing the hospital bulletin.
According to Jilani's son Nazam Zafaryab, he slipped and fell down on a floor wet from rains while coming out of his office around 4.30 pm on Thursday. .
Nazam said Jilani, who is above 70, fainted due to injuries in his head and was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow.
Earlier, on Friday, Jilani, was operated upon in Lucknow on Friday for blot clots that had developed in his brain following head injury on Thursday evening.
After the over seven hour surgery, the senior advocate was put on ventilator support and his condition was said to be critical. He was also detected positive for covid-19 during tests on Friday morning. Quoting family sources, a TOI report said that he was completely asymptomatic before and after the covid test result.
The convenor of the Babri Masjid Action Committee, Jilani had argued in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi case in the Supreme Court.
