New Delhi: Zippy is the luckiest of all squirrels that jump across tree branches in India—remember there are millions of them out there!
Few of them will ever travel beyond the trees in the woody villages where they live—but Zippy has crossed oceans on a ship to arrive in Scotland.
The little squirrel whose story is buzzing on internet spent three weeks in a cage during its voyage through oceans.
The photos shared on Facebook by New Arc Wildlife Hospital, North East Wildlife & Animal Rescue Centre show Zippy in good spirits, according to India Today.
The caption to the Facebook post reported that "we received a call from Clara and Natasha, who work for Pest Solutions in Aberdeen. They were on their way to Clipper Quay to pick up a squirrel which had been discovered on a boat arriving from India and wondered if we would be prepared to take him in."
On arrival, "the Palm Squirrel or 3-streipped Squirrel" was housed in a bigger cage, the post said, adding that zippy is one of the common Indian Squirrels.
It is very fit and active, faster than a speeding bullet which earned him the name, Zippy, it said.
The little one, according to the post, survived a " hectic journey" and add that it is a little stressed having survived 3 week voyage from India.
The post also said that search was on to find the animal a permanent home, and requests for adoption of Zippy are also pouring in.
