New Delhi: The Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena slapped a new accusation on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader that released fake figures on the development of Khadi lounge in Mumbai, PTI reported.
This was after AAP's allegation that Saxena misused his position and awarded a contract for the interior design of a Khadi lounge in Mumbai to his daughter when he was the chairman of the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC). The party also demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi should immediately sack Lt Governor Saxena.
The Lt Governor's official Twitter handle tweeted, "The @kvicindia has issued a letter categorically stating that the entire cost of execution of the project of its Mumbai Lounge was ₹ 27.3 lakh, contrary to fake figures being touted by leaders of a political party."
Amid the ongoing feud between the ruling AAP government and Saxena, the latter accused AAP national convener and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of resorting to "diversionary tactics and false accusations" after he flagged various issues, including irregularities in the government's excise policy.
