A foreign national is among two women being held by the NCB following raids

In a joint operation by the Narcotics Control Bureau's Mumbai and Goa units, the NCB said on Friday that two women, one of them a foreign national, were arrested for their alleged involvement in drug peddling.

According to authorities, the women were from Apors area in north Goa.

According to an NCB official, the joint operation was conducted following a specific tip-off. A Mumbai and Goa NCB team established the information and conducted raids following.

 A NCB official says that MDMA tablets have been recovered from them. They have been involved with drug smuggling for a considerable period of time.

In a statement, NCB officials said the one woman was a foreign national and the other was an Indian. Visa and passport details of the foreign national were being checked.

Both women were taken to a nearby government hospital where they were made to undergo medical examinations by the NCB. The NCB has filed a case under the NDPS Act against them.

Both women have confessed to dealing in drugs, the NCB official reported. The NCB said that it has also recorded testimony from witnesses in the case.

In a new year evening drug peddling case, the NCB had arrested two women from Goa in the previous evening. The NCB team got a tip-off about the two women arrested on Friday.
