Delhi police arrest 9 for posters questing PM Modi over COVID

New Delhi: Nine people have been arrested in Delhi for pasting posters that were allegedly Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the failure in the handling of the COVID situation and vaccination At least 10 FIRs have been registered by the Delhi Police in connection with the protesting posters.

Delhi police alleged that four people arrested on Thursday were associated with the AAP councillor Dhirender Kumar and were acting on behalf of him. While police confirm that Kumar's role has yet to be probed, Kumar denied any of these allegations were came to his awareness.

A report by The Indian Expressed quoted a senior officer claiming the posters that "Why did you send our children's vaccines abroad?" were seen pasted in many places in Delhi.

Arrests were the result of actions that have been taken after receiving several complaints in linking to the posters, said police.

As per the police reports, one FIR had been lodged and 4 arrested in the East district. Three FIRs and two arrests were made within the Northeast district, one FIR and one arrest in North, one FIR and two arrests in Dwarka, two FIRs in Rohini, and one FIR every in Central and West districts.

"An FIR under sections 3 of the Prevention of Defacement of Property Act, 3 Press and Registration of Books Act, 51(1)(b) and 54 DDMA, 188, 269, and 34 of the IPC has been registered against them. Around 860 posters and 20 banners have been recovered from their possession.
