3 shot dead in UP for smearing cake on face at birthday bash

Bulandshahr: Three young men were shot dead in a violent escalation of a minor dispute during a birthday celebration in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr district on Saturday night.

The incident occurred in the Khurja Nagar area, where celebrations were underway at a local gym and in front of a nearby house. The victims were identified as Amardeep Saini, Manish Saini and Akash Saini.

According to police findings, the violence was triggered by a trivial disagreement after friends smeared cake on the face of the birthday celebrant, Jeetu Saini. What began as a minor altercation quickly intensified into a heated argument. Jeetu and his associates later returned to the scene armed with firearms and opened fire on the group.

All three victims sustained critical injuries and were rushed to a hospital, but succumbed to their wounds.

The accused fled the scene immediately after the shooting and remains at large. Family members of the victims have alleged that the attack was not spontaneous, claiming the accused had gone home after the argument and returned with multiple licensed weapons, indicating premeditation.

Senior police officials, including Meerut Range DIG Kalanidhi Naithani, visited the site to assess the situation. Authorities have formed six special teams to track down the accused. Forensic experts are examining evidence, and CCTV footage from the area is being analysed to identify and apprehend those involved.

Police said efforts to locate the absconding suspects have been intensified and assured that strict action will be taken against all those responsible for the killings.
