3 helmet wearing men with guns loot Jewellery in Navi Mumbai shop

Mumbai: A robbery at gunpoint was reported from a jewellery shop in Navi Mumbai's Kharghar area on Sunday around 10 PM.

Three men wearing helmet and armed with guns barged into the shop looting jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh, The Free Press Journal reported.

Footage from the CCTV cameras in the shop showed three men in black clothes entering the shop.

One of the accused opened fire to threaten the employees.

"Wearing black clothes and armed with revolvers, the three entered the shop, threatened the staff, assaulted them, and looted jewelry worth Rs 11.80 lakh. In three minutes, they shot four to five rounds, though no one was injured," news agency PTI quoted a Kharghar police officer as saying.

A staff member rang the alarm but turned it off following the firing.

It is reported that when locals tried to catch the accused, another round of fire was shot.

An official said that efforts are underway to arrest the three accused.

A case was registered under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Arms Act.
