2nd ragging incident reports in Madhya Pradesh within days

Bhopal: An incident of ragging in a Madhya Pradesh college came to light after a video of the incident surfaced on social media on Saturday. This happened days after some MBBS students were ragged at Indore's MGM medical college in the state, IANS reported.

The new case happened in a government-run medical college in the Ratlam district.

In the mentioned video, students were standing against a wall in line and were repeatedly slapped and abused. While the incident was going on, someone recorded it and uploaded it on social media.

After the video picked attention, the college informed that its administration took notice and initiated an inquiry. IANS learned that when the hostel warden tried to stop the ragging, senior students misbehaved with him also.

Though the disciplinary committee of the college initiated an investigation, no police cases have been registered so far. "The disciplinary committee of the college is conducting an inquiry. No complaint has been lodged with the police so far," sources told IANS.

Further, they said that the ragging incident was reported a couple of days ago, it came to light after the video surfaced.

Last week, a group of senior MBBS students of an Indore medical college was accused of allegedly forcing juniors to perform indecent acts and to use abusive language against female MBBS students. Around ten seniors were booked under the Anti-Ragging Act.
