New Delhi: Two boys under the influence of ganja knifed to death a six year-old child in South Delhi.
The horrific crime unfolded at a construction site near Lodhi Road where the murdered child's parents were found wailing over their son's body, according to the police.
The couple told the police they were singing bhajans after dinner at the construction site when they noticed that their son was missing.
The boy's father went about searching the boy in the neigbourhood, before happened to see blood spots on the floor of a jhuggi.
He forced opened the door, only to shockingly find his son's body and the two boys, according to NDTV.
Police said that the two accused consumed ganja before killing the child.
After consuming what they said Lord Shiva's prasad, the boys went over to women who were singing bhajans to ask for incense sticks, which they refused.
On their way back to the jhuggi, they said they felt Lord Shiva was asking for the sacrifice of a child.
Afterwards, taking the child inside their jhuggi they slit his throat with a kitchen knife, the police said.
A forensic team recovered the knife the two boys used.
