Hyderabad: A 16-year-old boy was found dead in his classroom at a school in Hyderabad on Tuesday.
He allegedly died by suicide and was found hanging by his classmates, police said.
The student, preparing for competitive exams, went missing after the study hours, NDTV reported.
Following a frantic search in the school building the body was discovered.
He hanged himself with a nylon rope used for drying clothes; however no suicide note was recovered, police said.
The other students hitch-hiked taking the student to a hospital where he was declared dead, police reportedly said.
Reports did not mention why the school authorities had not arrange a vehicle to take the student to hospital.
One of his friends said that pressure from exams had driven the student to suicide. His family members staged a protest outside the school, demanding probe.
A growing number of parents are getting concerned about the spate of suicide cases having been reported among students of the state in the past week.
