Kullu: The bus that fell into a gorge in Himachal Pradesh killing 16 people looks like a wreckage at a dismantling ground.
The private bus ferrying 45 people including school children fell into in Sainj valley of Himachal Pradesh's Kullu early on Monday morning, according to India Today.
The bus that was heading towards Sainj, according to Kullu Deputy Commissioner Ashutosh Garg, fell into the gorge near Jangla village.
The site of the mishap is long way into the village, close to 60 km away from the district headquarters. Three injured have been rescued so far.
Calling the accident "heart-rending" PM Modi condoled with the families of deceased, while announcing gratia of Rs 2 lakh for the next of kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 for the wounded.
Prime Minister's office said the bus accident in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh is heart-rending and hoped that the injured would be recovered at the earliest, and added that local administration is providing help to those affected.
