Fans pull up decade-old tweet to celebrate "Sky's" recent knock

After the thundering performance (117 off 55) by Surya Kumar Yadav, who is also called 'Sky' with love, at Trent Bridge in Nottingham in the T20I against England, he is being showered with praise from many quarters, though India lost the match.

One among the priceless felicitations towards him is a 2011 tweet by Rohit Sharma, which has resurfaced recently, in which Sharma praised Sky eleven years ago, predicting Sky's bright future, NDTV reports.

Sharma wrote in a December 2011 tweet, "Just got done with BCCI awards here in chennai (sic)..some exciting cricketers coming up..Suryakumar yadav (sic) from Mumbai to watch out for in future!".

After the match, an amused England pacer Reece Topley praised Sky's knock in the game. He said, "Some great knocks today (Sunday), but I am happy to get this award. (About his game plan) Isolate every ball. Different batters, some are set, and some are not. You just want to come out and restrict runs or take wickets. We wanted to take early wickets. There was an unbelievable knock from their (India's) side. I was speechless by some of shots, unbelievable," quoted NDTV.

On Sunday, England won the last match of the three-match T20I series for 17 runs. However, India had already swept the series with wins in the first two matches. David Malan's 77 off 39 powered England to 215/7 in 20 overs on the Sunday match. India, despite Sky's century, couldn't meet the target and fell at 198/9. Sky had played the ball around the pitch, hitting 14 boundaries and six sixes.
