Yogi Adityanath aide warns of retaliation against 'Tandav' makers

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's media aide Shalabhmani Tripathi issued a warning to the makers of the web series 'Tandav' on Twitter, assuring that anyone making derogatory content against Hindus will "pay a price for hurting religious sentiments."

He also tagged the series director Ali Abbas Zafar, producer Himanshu Krishna Mehra, writer Gaurav Solanki and actors Saif Ali Khan and Zeeshan Ayub, and said that playing with people's sentiments would not be tolerated as a strong case was being invoked against the team of web series Tandav.

"Be prepared for arrest soon," Tripati wrote in his tweet.

The Information and Broadcasting industry had already summoned the heads of Amazon India's original content division to discuss the controversy after several letters from BJP leaders over controversial scenes that allegedly denigrated the Hindu faith.

The makers of the series had already issued an apology amongst calls for the show to be boycotted and OTT content to be censored.
