The Ba***ds Of Bollywood mirrors my life and damages image: Sameer Wankhede to Delhi HC

IRS officer Sameer Wankhede has submitted his reply to the Delhi High Court in the defamation case he has filed against Shah Rukh Khan's company, Red Chillies.

The case is linked to the show The Ba***ds Of Bollywood.

Wankhede said the show has harmed his reputation.

In his reply, Wankhede listed four reasons why he believes the police officer character in the show is based on him.

He highlighted physical similarities and said the character resembles his facial and physical features.

He said the working style and mannerisms shown on screen match his own.

He also pointed out that the character makes a high-profile arrest connected to a major film personality. He said this is directly linked to Aryan Khan's arrest.

He further mentioned that the character repeatedly uses the phrase "Satyameva Jayate." He added that he used this phrase many times during the Aryan Khan investigation. He argued that using the national motto in that manner cannot be treated as mockery or humour.

Wankhede stated that Aryan Khan himself had admitted in an interview that the series was "inspired by some real events." He said this proves Red Chillies' claim that The Ba***ds Of Bollywood is "completely fictional" is not true.

Wankhede also argued that the tone of the show indicates that the aim is not artistic storytelling. Instead, he said the intention is personal and institutional vendetta, and to target and damage his reputation.

He said the fallout of this defamation has also affected his family. He said he, his wife, and his sister are now receiving offensive and vulgar messages from people.

He rejected the claim made by Red Chillies that he is a "thin-skinned" official. He said a government officer cannot be expected to ignore baseless defamation just because he holds a public post. He said this legal action is meant to protect the fundamental constitutional rights of him and his family.
