Bengaluru: Tamil actor Vishal has announced during an event that he will continue to take care of the educational expenses of 1800 children in Karanataka, who were being earlier sponsored by the Kannada superstar, Puneeth Rajkumar.
Vishal's video has gone viral in Karnataka and people are appreciating the humane gesture of the Tamil actor.
Participating in a function, Vishal said, "We will continue with the wonderful services to the society by Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar. I will take care of those 1,800 children who are your (Puneeth) family. I will take care of them," he said.
Meanwhile, as a mark of respect to the deceased Kannada star, it has been decided to exhibit his superhit movies in malls and theatres of Karnataka during this week.
Puneeth had a list of Kannada medium schools that he took the responsibility of, by regularly making donations in terms of fees. Apart from that, he also ran 46 orphanages, 19 cow shelters and 16 old age homes. He also donated his eyes and becomes the third member of his family to do so after his father Dr Rajkumar and mother Parvathamma.
The last rites of the Kannada star were performed on Sunday at Sree Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru. The actor was laid to rest with full state honours. Karnataka CM, actor Yash, and a few other celebs besides family and relatives were present at the last rites.
