New Delhi: After their February wedding, Swara Bhasker and Fahad Ahmad held a lavish celebration in New Delhi on Thursday that was attended by some of the most prominent figures in Indian politics. Attending the reception were Rahul Gandhi, the head of the Congress, Arvind Kejriwal, Shashi Tharoor, Jaya Bachchan, and Supriya Sule.
On social media, Swara and Fahad posted images from their celebration. Fahad donned an ivory and gold sherwani, while Swara wore a pink lehenga, Indian Express reported.
Rahul Gandhi was spotted taking photos with the newlyweds, their parents, and other family members. He dressed in white for the evening. In December, Swara travelled with Rahul from Madhya Pradesh on the Bharat Jodo Yatra.
Derek O'Brien, Akhilesh Yadav, and Delhi's chief minister Arvind Kejriwal were also present. Shashi Tharoor wore a golden yellow silk kurta to the reception while Kejriwal wore his trademark checkered shirt and pants.
Jaya Bachchan, the head of the Samajwadi Party, skipped her daughter Shweta's birthday celebration to go to Swara and Fahad's wedding reception. She had masked herself and was wearing a white and yellow salwar kameez.
Supriya Sule, a member of parliament, also attended the gathering. The politician posted photos from the event on Instagram along with a message of congratulations for the pair. She wrote, “Congratulations Swara Bhaskar and Fahad Ahmad! Wishing you both all the good luck and happiness in the world! 🌸🌻.”
Fahad and Swara first met at the 2020 anti-CAA demonstrations. Fahad is a prominent member of the Samajwadi Party, whereas Swara is an actor with a strong political presence.
