Mexico City: Mexican wrestler Rey Misterio Sr, the Uncle of WWE superstar Rey Mysterio Jr, died on Friday. His family confirmed the death of legendary lucha libre wrestler Misterio, who was 66, NDTV reported.
Mysterio Sr won several championship titles with many front-running organisations, like the World Wrestling Association and Lucha Libre AAA World Wide, to gather fame.
He had exhibited his talents internationally, participating in events like World Championship Wrestling's Starrcade in 1990. He was known for his high-flying style and contributions to wrestling, and he inspired countless fans and athletes across the world.
The Lucha Libre AAA informed us of his death through a post on X. The organisation extended its prayers and deepest sympathies to his family.
It wrote on X that it regret the sensitive death of Miguel Angel Lopez Dias, also known as Rey Mysterio Sr. It added that the organisation send its most sincere condolences to his loved ones and raises its prayers to heaven for his eternal rest.
