Los Angeles: Shakira and her collaborator Bizarrap have set four new Guinness World Records with their new song 'Music Sessions Vol.53'. It is a historic achievement.
The song was released in January and went immediately viral for criticising Shakira's ex, Spanish soccer player Gerard Pique.
The Colombian pop artist's new song with the Argentine DJ and producer has been topping the charts since its release. It became the fastest Latin song to reach 100 million views on YouTube. It also broke the record for most views by a Latin song on YouTube in 24 hours with 63,000,000. On Spotify, it is now the most streamed Latin song with 14,393,342 listens. By the end of the first week, it had 80,646,962 listens and became the most-streamed Latin music on the platform.
The musicians received the Guinness World Records certificates from official adjudicator Michael Empric and showed up on 'The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon' to perform the historic song.
Shakira also broke 10 other records with 'Music Sessions Vol.53". She is now the first female vocalist to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 with a Spanish-language track and made a record for most No. 1s on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart by a female artist.
The 46-year-old is the first female artist to replace herself at No.1 on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart. She also has the most "cumulative weeks at No.1 on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart by a female artist" with 67 in total.
She also broke the records for "most top 10 hits on Billboard's Hot Latin Songs chart by a female artist", "top 10 hits on Billboard's Latin Airplay chart by a female artist", and "most No. 1s on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay chart by a female artist", "most top 10 hits on Billboard's Latin Pop Airplay chart by a female artist" and "most No.1s on Billboard's Latin Digital Song Sales chart" and "most Billboard charts topped by a Spanish-language track by a female artist".
