"It is actually the hardest role of my life simply because I was and I had to do it at that point of time when I was really weak. So for me Citadel is already a success because I shot for it under the most grilling circumstances and I didn’t think that I could do it, but really when you asked again about it, like now I can say I’m very proud of myself.:

Filming for Citadel coincided with a challenging period for Samantha, who was battling an auto-immune disease named myositis. Despite her health struggles, she persevered through the filming process, showcasing resilience and determination.

Directed by Raj & Dk, Citadel marks Samantha's second collaboration with the acclaimed duo, following their collaboration on the second season of The Family Man, starring Manoj Bajpayee.

Alongside Samantha, Citadel features Varun Dhawan in a leading role, adding to the anticipation surrounding the project. Samantha recently hinted at the progress of the film's post-production phase, fueling excitement among fans eagerly awaiting its release.

While an official release date for Citadel India is yet to be confirmed, speculations suggest a later release this year.
