Salman Khan and Alia Bhatt shine at Joy Awards in Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Bollywood actor Salman Khan recently attended the Joy Awards in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where he was invited to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Egyptian actor Essad Youniss.

The actor, known for his charismatic presence, was seen in a dashing lavender shirt paired with a violet-grey suit, exuding charm and style.

A highlight of the event was Salman Khan striking a pose with Hollywood legend Anthony Hopkins, creating an iconic moment that has now gone viral on social media. Fans shared the video with captions expressing awe at the meeting between the two megastars.

In addition to Salman Khan, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt also graced the award show. She was honoured with the prestigious Honorary Entertainment Makers Award. Alia, known for her exceptional acting skills, expressed her deep love for cinema in her acceptance speech. She thanked the organisers for creating an extraordinary night that brought together talents from the East and West under one roof in Riyadh, reported The Indian Express.

Alia said, "It’s a privilege to be here in this nation, the nation that is currently doing so much to unite us all and bring us all under one roof in the name of cinema. It doesn’t happen very often when countless talents from the West, and East come together under one roof and celebrate each other. So, thank you for making this happen."

The actress, who wore a stylish ajrakh-print saree with a dramatic trail for the occasion, shared her deep connection with movies, stating, "I’m obsessed with movies, it’s all I know. I’ve said this before, I think when I was born, I came out on ‘Lights, camera, action.’ That’s how much cinema means to me."

Salman Khan is currently hosting the TV reality show "Bigg Boss 17" on weekends, and his fans are eagerly anticipating his return to the big screen. His upcoming film, "The Bull," backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and directed by Vishnu Vardhan, is highly anticipated.

Alia Bhatt is gearing up for her next project, director Vasan Bala’s film titled "Jigra," co-produced by Karan Johar and Alia herself, scheduled to hit theatres on September 27, 2024.

The Joy Awards are Saudi Arabia's largest event recognizing and honouring the Arab world's leading artists and their achievements. The event is part of the Riyadh Season and is co-organized by MBC Group.
