Netflix's 'The Archies' first-look poster, teaser is out and it's all things nostalgic

New Delhi: The much anticipated first-look poster of Zoya Akhtar's Bollywood adaptation of The Archies comics is out and looks promising as a fun ride down the memory lane.

Sharing the first poster of the film's cast - Suhana Khan as Veronica, Khushi Kapoor as Betty and Agastya Nanda as Archies, the makers wrote: "Grab your picnic baskets and pick out your cutest outfits, we're going to greet the Archie's gang. Presenting the cast of THE ARCHIES, a Zoya Akhtar film. 

The poster features the ensemble cast, in 1960s' attire, posing in a wooded area. The film will premiere on Netflix next year. The teaser video shows the cast goofing around and having fun on the sets in character while a peppy song by plays in the background. 

Sharing a teaser of sorts, introducing us to other characters from the film, the makers wrote: "The sun is out, the news is out! Come meet your new friends. Presenting to you the cast of The Archies, directed by the fantastic Zoya Akhtar."

The adventures of Archie Andrews and his squad including Veronica, Betty, Jughead and Reggie, have been immortalised by several adaptions of films and cartoon series. And now the netizens are excited to watch what the Indian adaptation of the series has in store.

Speaking of the film's cast - all of them have impeccable genes. Suhana Khan, daughter of superstar Shah Rukh Khan and interior decorator Gauri Khan, has inherited her love for acting from her father SRK. Agastya is the son of author Shweta Bachchan Nanda and business tycoon Nikhil Nanda. He is the grandchild of Bollywood veterans Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Khushi Kapoor is the daughter of late superstar Sridevi and film producer Boney Kapoor. Her sister Janhvi Kapoor also features in Bollywood films.

Apart from the star kids, this OTT movie also features Dot., Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Yuvraj Menda. 'The Archies' series has a retro vibe to it, with all the ingredients of a classic high school entertainer.
