Nayanthara to play foodie girl in her 75th film Annapoorani, teaser out

Chennai: Nayanthara's much-anticipated 75th film, "Annapoorani," has taken the spotlight following the release of its teaser, which showcases the actress in a character that defies traditional norms.

The teaser, unveiled on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, provides a tantalising peek into the role.

In "Annapoorani," Nayanthara delves into a character that deviates from her conventional Brahmin upbringing. The teaser shows beautiful visuals of Srirangam near Trichy, setting the stage for the narrative of an orthodox Brahmin family.

The storyline primarily centres around Nayanthara's character, who was raised in a conservative Brahmin household known for its staunch vegetarian lifestyle. However, a fascinating twist in the narrative adds depth to the character.

Nayanthara’s character is seen engrossed in what initially appears to be a management book. However, the surprise unfolds when it is revealed that she is covertly perusing a cookbook that features recipes for meat dishes.

Directed by Nilesh Krishna, "Annapoorani" marks a significant milestone in Nayanthara's illustrious career.

The film boasts an ensemble cast, including accomplished actors such as Jai, Sathyaraj, KS Ravikumar, Redin Kingsly, Kumari Sachu, Karthik Kumar, and Suresh Chakravarthy.

The film's technical crew features renowned professionals like composer Thaman S, cinematographer Sathyan Sooryan, and editor Praveen Antony.

Nayanthara was last seen in I. Ahmed's psychological thriller, "Iraivan," alongside Jayam Ravi. The film featured notable actors such as Rahul Bose, Narain, Ashish Vidyarthi, Charle, and others, with mixed reviews but praised lead performances.

The actress also made her Hindi film debut in Shah Rukh Khan's "Jawan," directed by Atlee. The movie included a star-studded cast with Vijay Sethupathi, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Sanjay Dutt, among others, and was a blockbuster hit, grossing over Rs 1000 crores.

Nayanthara is rumoured to have two exciting projects lined up for the future: "Mannangatti Since 1960" with Yogi Babu and "Test" featuring R. Madhavan, Siddharth, Meera Jasmine, and more.
