Mumbai: Pan Indian actress Tamannaah Bhatia's new film Babli Bouncer has already impressed fans with its trailer. She was seen riding a bullet and lifting heavy weights in the short video.
The actress said that she learnt to beatbox and to ride a motorbike for the film. The story is about bodybuilder Babli, a small-town girl who believes she can do anything that a man can. While her mother complains there is nothing ladylike in her behaviour, she is trying to make her career as a bouncer in Delhi.
The trailer hints at a coming-of-age feel-good story with a comedic vibe. It is set in Asola Fatehpur, known as the bouncer town of North India.
She added that the most difficult part of riding a bullet was getting used to its weight. "I had ridden a scooter before. It took me a bit to get comfortable with the heavy bike." Speaking about preparing for the role, she said she never knew beatboxing wasn't beating someone but a type of voice. "I learn the different sounds we make."
The Madhur Bhandarkar directorial will start streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from September 23. The film will be available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
