Mumbai: On World Mental Health Day 2023, Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan opened up about the positive impact of therapy on his life and encouraged others to consider it as a valuable resource for mental well-being.
Mental health has gained recognition as a crucial aspect of overall personal development in recent years. Breaking the stigma associated with seeking professional help for mental health concerns has become increasingly important.
As the world observes World Mental Health Day on October 10, Hrithik Roshan, one of Bollywood's leading actors, took the opportunity to shed light on the significance of therapy in his life and advocate for its importance.
Hrithik Roshan, known as the Greek God of Bollywood, used his platform to raise awareness about mental health and inspire people to consider therapy if they require assistance. The actor, who is currently busy filming for his upcoming movie "Fighter," shared a thoughtful message alongside a selfie. His message emphasised the transformative power of therapy and the positive effects it has had on his life.
Hrithik said, "Today is mental health day. I just wanna say that I wouldn’t be here making each day count, being productive, being kind (to myself too), being at peace, taking on challenges, getting better at work, at life, at living, if it wasn’t for the years I have put into therapy. Working on oneself, on one's inner world is precious. My wish is for all of us to learn how to look inside. Become a community of aware adults. And just by doing that, we’d be changing the world."
Hrithik's message reflects the potential of celebrities to use their influence and reach to raise awareness about important societal issues, including mental health. In addition to Hrithik Roshan, several other Bollywood celebrities also took to their social media platforms to address mental health on World Mental Health Day 2023.
Kajol tweeted, "Laugh, live, love & make others laugh too... Do your bit of kindness in a day because you never know which soul is watching you, just waiting for some evidence of the goodness of humanity and human beings. You may just save someone’s sanity by showing them that kindness and compassion exist."
Numerous other Bollywood stars, including Arjun Kapoor, Ali Fazal, Aamir Khan, and his daughter Ira Khan, shared their thoughts and messages related to mental health, collectively contributing to the ongoing conversation about this critical issue.
