Former girlfriend Somy Ali calls Salman Khan "a women beater" and "sadistic"

Salman Khan's ex-girlfriend Somy Ali has called him "a women beater" on social media. She asked people to stop worshipping him.

The former actress shared the poster of the 90s film 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and wrote: "a women beater. And not just me, but many. Stop worshipping him, please. He is a sadistic sick *#uck. You have no idea." She did not name or tag Salman Khan in the post.

Somy worked with Salman Khan in a movie that was later shelved. The duo was in a relationship for eight years. She also claimed to share a great rapport with his parents.

Speaking to Free Press Journal, Somy said she was very young when she met him and she confessed her feelings first. "We were heading to Nepal. I was sitting next to him. I just removed his photo showing it to him. I told him, 'I have come all the way to marry you!' He said, 'I have a girlfriend.' I said that doesn't matter. I was a teenager. Our relationship started after a year when I turned 17. He did tell me first, 'I love you.' It didn't take a lot of convincing."

After working on some advertisements, she starred in 10 Bollywood movies with top actors.

In a conversation with Zoom, Somy said their relationship ended because Salman cheated on her. "He cheated on me and I broke up with him and left. It's as simple as that." She has on several occasions said that their relationship was not what it was made out to be.

Somy Ali was born in Karachi but lived in the US when she became a fan of Salman Khan after watching Maine Pyar Kiya. She came to India with the intention of marrying him and moved back to the US when the relationship ended.

The 46-year-old has been open about her experiences with sexual assault, domestic violence, and drug abuse. After moving back to the US, she attended New York Film Academy and graduated with a degree in filmmaking, direction, screenwriting, and editing. Her early projects included short films on abortion, domestic violence, and teenage suicide.

She is now running an NGO 'No More Tears' in the US.
