Telugu actor Allu Arjun has shown his support for the victims of the recent landslide in Wayanad, Kerala, by contributing Rs 25 lakh to the Kerala Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
On Sunday, the actor expressed his condolences and commitment to aid in the rehabilitation efforts through a heartfelt note on Instagram.
"I am deeply saddened by the recent landslide in Wayanad. Kerala has always given me so much love, and I want to do my bit by donating ₹25 lakh to the Kerala CM Relief Fund to support the rehabilitation work. Praying for your safety and strength, he wrote. He reiterated his prayers for the safety and well-being of the people of Kerala.
The landslide in Wayanad has resulted in over 290 fatalities and 200 missing persons, with debris flowing approximately 8 kilometers along the Iruvaiphuzha River. The disaster has caused significant destruction, with over 80,000 square meters of land affected.
Allu Arjun’s donation is part of a broader wave of support from the film industry. Tamil actor Vikram has also contributed Rs 20 lakh to the relief efforts. Vikram's manager, Yuvraaj, announced the donation on social media, expressing grief over the tragedy that left over 150 people dead, 197 injured, and many others missing.
Additionally, Malayalam actors Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim have made a substantial contribution of Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund. In a joint statement, they conveyed their hopes that their donation would provide essential assistance to those in need, expressing their thoughts and prayers for the affected individuals as they navigate this challenging period.
