Malayalam film maker Jayarajan's 'Adbutham' (Wonder), the film that found in Limca Book of records for completing the film making in most shortest time span, has finally been released on OTT platform 16 years after its production.
The movie, starred by Actor Suresh Gopi was released on Wednesday on Roots' OTT platform
The film shows Suresh Gopi as a terminally-ill NRI who seeks court-ordered approval for euthanasia as he wishes to end his life peacefully and on his own terms. The events of the film take place in the hospital, at 9 AM on the day he is supposed to be euthanised. Mamta Mohandas plays a supporting role and other prolific cast members include KPAC Lalitha and Kavalan Shrikumar.
Filming took place in 2005 and was completed in two hours at Ramoji Rao Film City in Hyderabad. Cinematography is handled by S.Kumar. Filming was initially projected to take 10 hours but, thanks to cooperation of the actors and technical staff, was completed in record time of two and a half hours. Rehearsals were held for seven days continuously to perfect positioning and dialogue delivery.
'Adbutham' is the fourth film in Jayaraj's 'Navarasa' series. The penultimate work in the series 'Haasyam' premiered at the International Film Festival of Kerala this year in the International Competition section.
