Mumbai: Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel has levelled serious allegations against Lok Janashakti Party (LJP) candidate and said that she had been fearing for her life and safety while taking part in the election campaigning in Bihar. Patel said that she felt unsafe with her fellow campaigners and she could have been raped and killed there. She was in Daudnagar to campaign for LJP candidate Prakash Chandra for the assembly elections.
The actor revealed that she had no choice but to play along in the act to secure her life and to get away safely. An audio clip that came out as Ameesha Patel's after her return from the campaign trail in Bihar, has gone viral. She referred to her Bihar election campaigning experience as nothing short of a "nightmare" while speaking with India Today.
She told in her audio clip, "I was so scared for my life and for the team of people that were with me that I had no choice but to quietly play along till I safely reached Bombay." She continued, "Even as I arrived back last evening in Mumbai, he started sending threatening calls and messages and asking me to speak highly of him as I had been honest about my terrible experience with him..."
Ameesha said that she went as a guest in the election campaigning for Prakash Chandra where he misbehaved and blackmailed her. She added that she is going to be honest about the terrible experience with him no matter what.
She alleged that Parkash Chandra made her miss an evening flight and threatened to leave her in a village alone if she disagrees on anything with him. She elaborates, "But when I reached Mumbai I had to let the world know the truth. I could have been raped and killed. My car was surrounded at all times by his people and they would refuse to let my car move till I do as he said. He trapped me. And put my life in danger. This was his way of operating."
Meanwhile, Chandra has refuted all her allegations and countered Patel's claims as baseless emphasizing that he had arranged Daudnagar station in-charge in her security trail and his team provided her with full protection during the car show in Daudnagar. He further accused Patel of accepting money from Jan Adhikar Party leader Pappu Yadav to conspire against him. "There is no shortage for artists in Bihar. She met Pappu Yadav at the airport. They made a deal of Rs 15 lakh," he said.
