Kollam: The Kerala police Monday arrested two key suspects in the ATM fraud, Ashish Arora and Sumith Kumar Arora, natives of Ludhiana in Punjab. Police said the two, who were the brains behind the fraud, used to start fake accounts, take cards, and withdraw money from ATM counters.
The team led a luxurious life by staying in expensive hotels, renting high-end luxury cars and flying up and down between Punjab and Kerala.
Earlier, the city police had arrested two youths from Ludhiana. They hinted that the main elements in the gang would soon be flying down to Kerala. The police kept an eye and their pictures were captured by ATM cameras. The police rushed to the spot and arrested the duo while they were attempting to withdraw money from an ATM counter at Polayathode here.
The other three members of the gang, arrested by the Punjab police in Ludhiana, would be brought to the city for further investigation.
