Thiruvananthapuram: Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday issued an order revoking serial actress Shalu Menon's membership in the Central Board of Film Certification.
Shalu Menon was removed from the Board for being an accused in the solar case. Censor board’s regional office in Kerala obtained the order on it today.
Meanwhile, Chief Judicial Magistrate has ordered to release Shalu Menon's luxury car to her on a surety bond of Rs15 lakhs or a security of equal value. The car had been confiscated by police in connection with the solar scam case.
Shalu Menon’s membership in the Central Board of Film Certification had come under heavy fire after she was arraigned as an accused in the solar panel scandal.
Shalu Menon was released from the Women’s Jail, Attakulangara, on August 24 after she was granted bail by the Kerala High Court.
The case relates to the alleged fraud perpetrated by Saritha S. Nair and her former live-in partner Biju Radhakrishnan, whose company Team Solar, promised to put up solar panels at discounted rates in offices and homes.
