NEW YORK: Naureen Hassan, an important Indian-American finance executive has been appointed as the President of UBS Americas and CEO of UBS Americas Holding, said the Switzerland-based financial giant.
Right now, Hassan is the first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York (FRBNY).
According to a press release by UBS Americas, She will also serve on UBS Group's Executive Board from October 2022.
Zurich and Basel-headquartered company said that succeeding Tom Naratil, Hassan will join in the leadership role in October this year.
Based in Switzerland, UBS Group AG is a multinational investment bank and financial services company.
Having its headquarters in both Zurich and Basel, it maintains a presence in all major financial centres as the largest Swiss banking institution and the largest private bank in the world.
Hassan resigned this week as first vice president and chief operating officer at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she was the New York Fed's second-ranking officer.
In her new role, Hassan will be responsible for enhancing client relationships, fostering cross-business collaboration, navigating the evolving public policy landscape and ensuring sound regulatory and reputational risk governance, UBS said in a statement.
Additionally, she will lead strategic growth and digital initiatives in the Americas region, including the transformation of the company's Wealth Management Americas platform, the expansion of digital customized banking services, the execution of the Wealthfront acquisition at closing, and the expansion of UBS Circle One in the region.
