The Samsung Galaxy S24 series, which has taken the smartphone world by storm, is eagerly awaited by smartphone enthusiasts. The Samsung flagship range boasts the marvel of artificial intelligence called 'Galaxy AI'.
Additionally, the highly anticipated Samsung foldable phones, are also expected to hit the market in July or August this year.
We are just a few months away from discovering the latest innovations Samsung is set to unveil. The upcoming models, namely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 have already generated considerable excitement.
A recent report from the Korean news portal, TheElec, suggests that Samsung may have an additional surprise in store—an affordable foldable phone launching this year.
If this materializes, it would mean three, instead of two, Samsung foldable phones entering the market in the coming months. Notably, the Z Fold 5, released last year, is currently priced at around 1.5 lakh rupees, while the Z Flip 5 costs Rs 1 lakh.
The report indicates that Samsung is aiming to expand its presence in the smartphone market by introducing more foldable phones. The Korean tech giant believes that by introducing a low-cost model, it can directly boost its market share in the Chinese foldable market.
Data shared in the report highlights a substantial increase in Samsung's market share with the launch of each new foldable phone. Samsung has consistently maintained a double-digit market share in the Chinese foldable phone market.
In contrast, its presence in the regular phone segment in the Chinese market is limited, with less than a 1% market share.
