Oil prices stay put through the past week

New Delhi: Petrol-diesel prices have stayed put for the past week in the country. Petroleum companies had earlier announced that people would benefit from the low cost of crude oil in the international market.

Following this, though the prices went down slightly for two days, it has been unwavering in the past week.

Last Tuesday, the prices went down by 22 paise for petrol and 23 paise for diesel. Though the international price for crude oil came down to 62.5 dollars last week, oil companies in India did not budge the price in the country.

On March 24th, prices came down for the first time this year, followed by 25th and 30th. Meanwhile, it is expected that the second wave of Covid-19 happening in various parts of the world could influence oil prices.
