Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) gets a new Managing Director as Mini Ipe took charge on Monday. Mini was appointed Managing Director vide Government of India notification dated 5th July, 2021.
Mini who joined LIC in 1986 as a Direct Recruit Officer, is a post graduate in Commerce from Andhra University.
Prior to taking charge as Managing Director, she was Executive Director of LIC's Legal Department. She was also the first woman Zonal Manager (In-charge) of LIC and headed SCZO, Hyderabad.
She has also worked as Executive Director (International Operations), Director & CEO of LICHFL Financial Services Ltd. and was instrumental in taking LICHFL Financial Services Ltd. to new heights in business revenue and profits during her tenure.
She has also worked as Regional Manager (P&IR) and Regional Manager (Estate) of Western Zone.
In May this year, the Banks Board Bureau (BBB) — the head-hunting agency for chairmen, CEOs and MDs of public sector banks and insurance companies — had chosen Mini Ipe and BC Patnaik as Managing Directors of LIC, anticipating two vacancies of MD in coming five months.
Mini is succeeding Vipin Anand, who retired last week, while Patnaik will be joining in place of Mukesh Gupta, who will call it a day in end-September.
