Learn to withdraw your PF funds, easy steps

New Delhi: Paying into Employees Provident Fund offers a safe deposit, provided you can set aside 12 percent of your monthly basic salary.

The money deposited in the Employees Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) becomes a sizeable amount over time, as your employer also contributes to it.

You can withdraw PF easily using the member e-SEW portal of EPFO, according to NDTV Profit.

The fund is generally withdrawn as an employee retires. But at times people withdraw a partial amount for emergency.

There are a few things one should learn about managing provident fund, when it comes to withdrawing money.

Linking Aadhar card to the universal account number( UAN) is mandatory. Try linking both on EPFO website or UMANG mobile app.Preform KYC formality, which is key to withdrawing PF.

PAN card is needed for KYC and EPFO after completing the process, gives the PF account a "verified" status.

How to withdraw PF fund?

Log in using your UAN on the portal at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/memberinterface/

Enter password and try the captcha for verification and turn to

the 'Online Services' tab and select the option 'Claim (Form-31, 19 & 10C)' from the drop-down menu.

Now enter your bank account number and click on 'Verify'.

Now click on 'Yes' and proceed. Afterwards, click on 'Proceed for Online Claim'.

Now select the claim you require under the tab 'I Want To Apply For'.

Select 'PF Advance (Form 31)' to withdraw your fund.

Then provide the purpose, the amount required and the employee's address.

Now, click on the certificate and submit your application.

You may be asked to submit scanned documents for the purpose you have filled the form.

After the employer approves the withdrawal request, money will be in your bank account.

It usually takes 15-20 days to credit the money to the bank account.
