The price of petrol and diesel surged across the four metro cities on Sunday. The fuel was sold for Rs 95.03/l on Sunday in the national capital, whereas until Saturday, it was sold for Rs 94.76/l.
In Mumbai, petrol was sold for Rs 101.25/l, whereas in Kolkata and Chennai, it was sold for Rs 95.02 and Rs 96.47, respectively.
As for diesel, the price rose to Rs 85.95/ l in Delhi, Rs 93.30/l in Mumbai, Rs 90.66/l in Chennai and Rs 88.80/l in Kolkata.
With the recent hikes, Mumbai, Thane, several districts in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are selling ordinary petrol for over Rs 100. Premium petrol price had already crossed Rs 100/l in January and February.
