A recent report from Informa Connect Academy predicts that Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire by 2027.
With a net worth currently at $237 billion, Musk would need to achieve an annual growth rate of 110% to reach the trillionaire milestone.
Indian industrialist Gautam Adani, with a fortune nearing $100 billion, could be next in line by 2028, if his conglomerate continues its rapid growth at the current rate of 123% annually.
Meanwhile, Asia’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani, may achieve trillionaire status by 2033, according to the report. His conglomerate, Reliance Industries, is projected to hit a trillion-dollar market capitalization by 2035.
The report highlights that while no individual has yet reached the trillionaire mark, several candidates are in contention. Apart from Musk and Adani, other potential trillionaires include NVIDIA’s Jensen Huang, Indonesian tycoon Prajogo Pangestu, French businessman Bernard Arnault, and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Currently, only a few companies have surpassed a $1 trillion valuation, such as Microsoft, Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, and Meta. Most recently, Nvidia joined this exclusive club in May 2023, quickly becoming one of the most valuable companies in the world.
