Washington: A US-based E-Commerce website showcases a charpai or Khatiya, a traditional cot used by Indians, for Rs 1,12,168. The product and its prices on Etsy's website have attracted the attention of many Indians since such a product could be bought easily from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000, NDTV reported.
Exotic products being sold or showcased on e-commerce sites at higher prices than their worth is something common, but a charpai at such an exorbitant price caught many users' attention.
According to the site, the chapati is a traditional Indian bed with beautiful décor. It is a handmade product made out of materials like wood and jute ropes, and a small business in India is responsible for making and shipping this item, the product description suggests. The description also mentions the size of the product.
