Adani partners with Mayo Clinic to establish world-class healthcare in India

In a major initiative to transform India’s healthcare landscape, Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, has announced the launch of Adani Health City (AHC) - a network of integrated health campuses designed to offer world-class, affordable medical care and education.

The project will be spearheaded by the Group’s not-for-profit healthcare arm, with the Adani family funding the initiative entirely as part of their commitment to social welfare.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Adani expressed his vision: "Proud to launch Adani Health City in partnership with Mayo Clinic, pioneering world-class medical research, affordable healthcare & education. Starting with two 1000-bed hospitals and medical colleges in Ahmedabad & Mumbai, we are on a mission to bring cutting-edge medical innovation across India. This is just the beginning for a healthier, stronger India – one campus at a time!"

The Adani family has pledged an initial investment of over Rs 6,000 crore to establish the first two 1,000-bed multi-specialty hospitals and medical colleges in Ahmedabad and Mumbai. These facilities will include medical colleges with an annual intake of 150 undergraduate students, over 80 residents, and more than 40 fellows; step-down and transitional care centers; and state-of-the-art research labs focusing on clinical research, artificial intelligence (AI), and biomedical informatics.

Beyond Ahmedabad and Mumbai, Adani Health City aims to expand to multiple cities and towns across India, bringing cutting-edge medical treatment to people from all socio-economic backgrounds.

To ensure the highest standards in healthcare delivery, the Adani Group has partnered with Mayo Clinic Global Consulting, a division of the renowned US-based Mayo Clinic. The collaboration will provide strategic guidance on clinical operations and research; integration of advanced technology, including AI and digital health solutions; and expert advice on enhancing healthcare quality and efficiency.

Mayo Clinic, recognised as the world’s largest not-for-profit integrated medical group practice, will offer tailored solutions to help elevate medical care and disease management in India.

Reflecting on the Adani Group’s philanthropic commitment, Adani recalled a significant milestone: "Two years ago, as a gift on my 60th birthday, my family pledged ₹60,000 crore towards healthcare, education, and skill development. The launch of Adani Health City is the first of many major projects from this commitment. With Mayo Clinic as our partner, we aim to revolutionize healthcare in India, with a special focus on complex disease care and medical innovation."
