Guilty of corruption: Samsung heir sentenced to five years in prison

Seoul: Jay Y Lee, the billionaire de facto heir of the South Korean conglomerate, has been jailed for five years, reported Yonhap agency. 

The Seoul Central District Court convicted Lee, 49, the vice-chairman of Samsung Electronics, the world's largest smartphone maker, of offences related to the corruption scandal that brought down ousted president Park Geun-Hye.

Lee is found to be guilty of bribery, embezzlement, capital flight, perjury and other crimes.
